Autodesk Maya 2010 software is the first release to unify the Autodesk® Maya® Complete 2009 and Autodesk® Maya® Unlimited 2009 feature sets, advanced matchmoving capabilities, and high dynamic range compositing into a single affordable package*. Also included for a complete CG workflow are 5 additional mental ray® for Maya batch** rendering nodes and the Autodesk® Backburner™† network render queue manager.

This newfeature also supports customized and user-specificviews, flexible referencing, and the creation ofasset libraries.
- Animation Layering
- A powerful new animation layering paradigm, builton technology from Autodeskо MotionBuilderоsoftware, gives you more flexibility as younondestructively create and edit animation. Thistoolset works with any attribute; animation layerscan be blended, merged, grouped, and reordered,and can override or add to preceding layers
- Maya nParticles
- Maya 2009 introduces the second module builton the highly acclaimed Maya Nucleus unifiedsimulation framework: Maya nParticles. Thisnewest toolset gives you an intuitive, efficientworkflow for simulating a wide range of complexeffects, including liquids, clouds, smoke, spray,and dust. nParticles features particle-to-particlecollisions, particle and nCloth bidirectionalinteraction, powerful constraints, cloud and“blobby” hardware display, preset rendering,and dynamic behaviors.
- Render Pass Enhancements

- Maya Muscle
- Maya 2009 includes Maya Muscle, a comprehensivemuscle and skin system that helps you createlifelike skin motion. This toolset enables you todirect muscle and skin behavior precisely, withsecondary motion, collisions, wrinkles, sliding, andstickiness―all built in.
- UV Layout Enhancements
- The ability to preserve UVs (when making modelingedits after the fact) as well as new UV unfoldingand layout options―including an interactivemode―help to increase your productivity bystreamlining the otherwise time-consuming task ofcreating optimal texture coordinates.
- Render Proxy
- A new Render Proxy feature in mental rayо renderingtechnology enables you to replace scene elementswith a simple low-resolution mesh, and only loadthe pretranslated data when required for rendering.
